Zion Wright wins Men’s Park Open Qualifier, Results & Recap | Dew Tour Des Moines 2021
American skater Zion Wright handily won Friday’s Dew Tour Men’s Park qualifier to earn one of 21 transfer spots to the Final.
Ranked 15th among Park skaters representing the USA prior to this week, Wright told field reporter Kim Woozy he’s not sweating the stats.
“I’m just here to have fun and I’m not even letting all that get to me,” Wright said. “I’m just here to have fun and put on for everyone.” Indeed.
Highlights from his first run included a backside Smith grind over the rainbow rail on the center island feature, a huge floater ollie, body jar, frontside air, frontside blunt, an enormous backside heelflip Indy air, and a fakie ollie over the hip into the big bank.
Oskar Rozenberg (SWE), Gavin Bottger (USA), Andy Anderson (CAN), and Karl Berglind (SWE) rounded out the top 5.
