Five American skaters led the Dew Tour Women’s Park Open Qualifier on Thursday before rain put the contest on hold overnight, with just six skaters remaining to take their final runs.

Fourteen-year-old American skater Ruby Faith Lilley led through all four heats in the Women’s Park Open Qualifier, with full-pull runs in each of her runs in a best-of-two runs scoring format. She had the top two scoring runs of the contest; her best was Run 2, with highlights including a big backside air transfer over the center box jump feature, lien tailslide, a backside nosegrind, and a lien disaster.

Lilley is from Oceanside, California, and finished 8th at the USA Skateboarding National Championships earlier this month after coming in as the top qualifier there.

A rain hold on Thursday afternoon pushed the final runs of the Open Qualifier to Friday morning. One of the remaining skaters was able to push into the top-20 bubble to advance to the Semifinal, which will be held later in the day. Brazilian skater Yndiara Asp bumped into the top-20 group in 8th place, knocking Chinese skater Jiayi Lou out of the Semifinal.

Six of the seven top qualifying spots went to skaters representing the USA. Japanese skater Kihana Ogawa improved from 15th place to 2nd place with her Run 2 score on Friday morning.

Ruby Faith Lilley is currently leading the field. After nailing her second run, including a big backside air over the center box jump feature, a judo air, and a proper tuck-knee invert, she pushed into the top spot in Heat 1 and held onto it.

Minna Stess, who won the USA National Championship earlier this month, bumped into second in her second and final run in Heat 4, just before the rain put the brakes on the event, with Jordyn Barratt, Grace Marhoefer, and Kody Tamanaha rounding out the top five.

The top 20 from the Open Qualifier will advance to Friday’s Women’s Park Semifinal, where they’ll join 12 pre-seeded skaters (based on the World Skate rankings prior to Dew Tour). Of the six skaters who will take their final runs on Friday morning before the Semifinal, three are currently outside of that top-20 bubble: Americans Jordan Santana and Arianna Carmona, and Bazilian Yndiara Asp. Scores in Women’s Park are based on the best of two runs.
