Kaitlyn Farrington is a rising star on the Dew Tour. Last month, in Snowbasin, she got 2nd place in the superpipe and this week she even has an outside chance at taking home the Dew Cup. Kaitlyn grew up and learned to snowboard in Idaho and is proficient in both the pipe and on the slopestyle course. Since 2007 she has earned ten top ten finishes including 3 on the Dew Tour. Before honing her skills on the slopes, she was an excellent swimmer with summer Olympic dreams.

Q: On a scale of 1-10, how awesome is the movie, Face-Off
A: hmmm well the truth be told I have never seen it…. (Ed. Note: That actually might be something to be proud of)
Q from @thedewtour: If you’re able to win the Dew Cup this weekend, what will you do with that prize money?
A: Go on VACATION!! It has been a long winter so I think it could be time to take a summer vacation to the beach.
I hear District 9 is nice this time of year
Q: What is your favorite trick to pull (Up in the Air)
A: I think I would to say air to fakie. Mine are getting better but when done right it’s a sweet trick.
A: Broc Waring has a great air to fakie!
Q from @Ridertech: Where are your favorite places to ride
A: Well I always love going home to Sun Valley and just free ride there. But since I live in SLC I love to ride SnowBird and PC
Q: And the Oscar goes to…. Who would play you in a movie about your life?
A: oh gosh I couldn’t even imagine… (Ed. Note: I’d suggest the fun version Julia Stiles in 10 Things I Hate About You)
I think Julia Stiles is stoked that she just won an Oscar in my head
A: Maybe Maddy Schaffrick but she would do it better.
Q from @thedewtour: Do you have any odd contest superstitions?
A: Don’t call last runs, that’s everyday though as well.
Q: You’ve had three surgeries on your meniscus (1 more than me), Who is the best celebrity Dr. (Dre? Pepper? Horrible? Other?)
A: Well I try and not think of those days anymore since my knee 100% so I would say Dr. Pepper its pretty good tasting.
Q from @thedewtour: Since we are in VT this week, the home of Ben & Jerry’s, what would your customized ice cream flavor be?
A: Oh where to begin…mint chocolate with brownie bits, toffee, and almonds is whet is on my mind at the moment.
We shall call that concoction “Kaitlyn’s Crippler of Taste” ….ok I know our followers can come up with something better

Q from @miniryansheckle: Do you ever get stage fright? If so, how do you deal with it?
A: Well yeah, its scary standing at the top of the pipe w/ people watching you and you have the pipe to yourself…kinda scary
A: I just try to forget about it but sometimes I can’t. I am still learning.
A: That 2nd place finish in Snowbasin will help you start to forget!

A: Yeah am always listening to something. I guess you could say that helps me get in the zone.

A: That would be The Toy Store in Sun Valley. I worked there when I was in high school and they had all the great toys!
