It has been an exhausting season for Gus Kenworthy. Constantly skiing, Gus has been either competing in world-class halfpipe and slopestyle events or practicing on his downtime. He told us that even on powder days he has been opting for the park and pipe—that’s dedication!
Despite the devotion, Gus has not been finding the podium finishes he has become accustomed to in recent years. After not cracking into the top five at Dew Tour or X Games, Kenworthy found himself riding with a broken thumb after crashing early on his arrival to PyeongChang. At the end of the Winter Olympic Games he finished last.
Gus took to social media directly following his non-medaling performance at the Winter Olympic Games to post a bit of humble positivity, reminding the ski world there is simply more to life. Gus always takes a little time to maintain authentic online activity. More recently, Gus hit Ricky Martin with a *Craigslist Missed Connections* style Instagram post, as par to his typical playful approach to social media and celebrity-ism.
Gus Kenworthy is just having fun living and being the best version of his most honest self. He likes his clothes to fit tight when he is off the hill but baggy when he is skiing in the halfpipe or on the slopestyle course.
