Ask any skateboarder and they’ll tell you that they have plenty of personal tweaks for their setup. Sometimes it’s just a bit of personalization or even a change that’ll give them a potential performance advantage. Taking the shields off of skate bearings is one of those personal preferences. Some believe riding with the shields off gives you a speed advantage, others purely do it for the sound.
