Event Details: On Go Skate Day, MTN DEW launched a new summer skateboarding campaign, “Skateboarding Is Unstoppable.” The campaign celebrates and amplifies how far skateboarding has progressed and rolls out ahead of the upcoming Dew Tour at Lauridsen Skatepark in Des Moines, Iowa, July 29 – 30.

As part of the campaign, professional street skater, Sean Malto, is returning to his hometown in Missouri on July 24 to unlock the otherwise off-limits Gillham Park for local skateboarding enthusiasts. “Skateboarding has gained so much visibility in the last few years and it’s awesome that MTN DEW is celebrating that in such a big way this summer,” says Malto. “Skateboarding is an important outlet for so many people, whether it’s a big competition or just messing around with friends and unlocking a spot in Kansas City to skate with my hometown community is the perfect way to honor that.”

The rest of the MTN DEW pro skate team, including Mariah Duran, Theotis Beasley, and Chris Colbourn, are unlocking spots throughout July in each athlete’s hometown to celebrate Skateboarding is Unstoppable. Each event will give local skaters an opportunity to ride otherwise off-limits skate spots across the country. The grassroots tour will end after the conclusion of the Summer Dew Tour with the entire team in Des Moines, Iowa at Lauridsen Skatepark on July 31. From 8am to noon on Sunday, the Dew Tour competition course will be opened up for the local skate community to get a chance to ride with the MTN DEW pro skate team.
