Things started back up on Saturday morning following a massive storm that put 32” of fresh powder on Copper Mountain, which pushed the Women’s Ski Superpipe presented by Toyota a day later. The judging was based on overall impression, with technicality, amplitude, along with general control and cleanliness of the athlete’s tricks. The riders were given three runs, with their best counting toward the final podium.

Devin Logan was stoked to be out there, saying, “SPT did a great job shaping the pipe for us today, and we’re happy that they postponed it because with the new fresh snow we had softer landings. We are lucky enough to get some good weather for some great skiing out of all the girls!”

Cassie Sharpe, last week’s winner of the Grand Prix in Mammoth and the 2018 Olympic gold medalist, brought out the most amplitude and put down a left side 1080 on her last hit. That 1080 set a high bar for everyone’s second runs. Rachael Karker also came forward and upped the amplitude, following her Canadian teammate Sharpe right into a second-place position.

Sharpe took a heavy spill on the last hit of her second run but thankfully walked it off. She opted out of taking her third run but maintained a high enough score to finish on top of the podium.

“I am just happy to be up here and skiing,” Sharpe noted. Sharpe continued to comment on the pipe being modified versus traditional saying, “I like this course better than last year’s, and it’s good–it’s fun and it’s different!”

Zoe Atkin

Zoe Atkin out of Park City, Utah had a rad alley-oop 360 on the upper section and a variety of creative grabs including an octo that stood out and slipped her into third.

The final results were Cassie Sharpe in first with an 85, Rachael Karker in second with an 83, and Zoe Atkin finishing third with an 80.
