A fixture of the competitive snowboarding world since 2000, Shaun White remains one of the world’s top Superpipe riders and a threat to win any contest he drops in on.

With first-hit backside airs that send him more than 20 feet out of the pipe, White’s amplitude is nearly unrivaled. He also has the sport’s biggest tricks, including the cab double cork 1440 and the double McTwist 1260, in his arsenal. At the 2017 U.S. Open, he successfully landed both of those tricks in the same run, raising the bar for everyone once more.

Over the years, White has scored numerous victories at Dew Tour, X Games and the U.S. Open, but he’s most well-known for winning back-to-back gold medals at the 2006 and 2010 Olympics. His attempt at an Olympic three-peat in 2014 was unsuccessful though. Because of a series of uncharacteristic mistakes in his run, White landed in fourth place, outside of medal position, while Iouri Podladtchikov captured the Olympic title in Sochi. With the 2018 Winter Olympics on the horizon, White is on a quest to avenge that result and reclaim his spot atop snowboard superpipe.

Thanks to the popularity he’s gained from his Olympic success, White has become a cultural star, with a signature clothing line, WHT Space, among his many endeavors outside of snowboarding. A crossover action sports athlete who has found success in skateboarding, he’s also the only athlete to have won Dew Cups in both the summer and the winter series.
