Kyle Mack was just 14 years old when he made his Dew Tour debut. At the time, he was an all-around rider competing in both Superpipe and slopestyle, but he’s a slopestyle specialist nowadays. After finishing second in the first Olympic qualifier in Mammoth last season, Mack has staked his claim for a spot on the Olympic team, but will need to keep his foot on the gas in order to lock down his place.
In 2013, a 15-year-old Mack landed the first triple rodeo 1440 in competition. In 2016, he stomped back-to-back triple corks to win his first Burton U.S. Open slopestyle title.
When it comes to triple corks, Mack has put his own distinct stamp on what’s become a fairly standard contest trick. Instead of the usual mute or indy grab, Mack has upped the technicality — and the style — of his triples by utilizing Japan grabs and tail grabs that stand out from the pack.
