It’s hard to have any discussion on style in skiing without bringing Henrik Harlaut into the equation. The dreadlocked one known as E Dollo, has arguably progressed the style of freeskiing more than anyone on Earth, blending the lines of urban, slopestyle, and backcountry with mind-bending ease. Fresh out of filming street and park segments, Harlaut rolled into the 2013 X Games and stomped a gold medal-winning nose butter triple cork 1620 in the X Games big air—a trick he had never even attempted before. Harlaut defended the title in 2014 and threw a shout out to Wu-Tang at the 2014 Winter Olympics after falling just short of the podium. But Harlaut’s greatest contributions to the sport have come in front of the camera with ski buddy and partner in crime Phil Casabon. The duo consistently drops inspiring online edits and movies, including the 2016 release BE Inspired, a film that flipped the ski world on its head and featured an original soundtrack with Wu-Tang artist, RZA. Harlaut and Casabon have also put their own spin on the competition scene, starting an invitational jam session called the B & E Invitational that draws the most creative skiers in the game.
