At the 2015 X Games, Emma Dahlström skied her slopestyle run without poles, joking that she was worried about losing them. She may have left her poles, but she didn’t leave anything on course, stomping one of the most technical rail displays ever to grace the women’s ski slopestyle course and taking her first X Games gold. After her X performance, the young Swede capped 2015 with a World Cup overall title and an AFP Championship. Her initial rise was derailed by a series of knee injuries, but after her historic 2015, she followed up in 2016 with seven podium finishes. Dahlström also competes in Big Air on the World Cup circuit.
