In 2014, David Wise became the first skier to win a gold medal in halfpipe at the Olympics. He’s also currently the reigning Dew Tour superpipe champion, winning the event when it was last held in 2015. In total, Wise has been victorious at two of the last three Dew Tour superpipe contests.
Wise’s runs stand out for their amplitude. He has also mastered some of the most difficult tricks and is able to spin double corks in a variety of directions, including switch and unnatural rotations.
Just as important as his on-snow achievements are, Wise considers his off-snow endeavors to be even more significant. He and his wife, Alexandra, are parents of two, and because of that, Wise has always struck a balance between being an athlete and being a family man.
