Chandler Hunt knows what it means to make sacrifices and to put in hard work. Hunt may have been a California kid from the start, but he made a major move to Park City, Utah in order to pursue his pipe (and slope) dreams.
A natural on the snow, Hunt showed serious skills in everything when it came to snowboard competition. When he first began dropping in to events he was riding everything from halfpipe, slopestyle and eventually big air events. Right from the beginning he was proving he had what it took to become a threat across all disciplines, but it was slopestyle that he truly excelled at. In 2013 he won his first World Rookie Tour event at the South America Rookie Fest. In 2016 he took all at a U.S. Revolution Tour event at Winter Park and later won the Zillertal Valley Ralley in Austria.
Hunt’s uniquely calm style while flying through the air may come from his background and comfort riding in the pipe—he is a two-time national halfpipe champion, after all. However, it is how he soars off slopestyle jumps that catches most people’s (and judges) attention. Hunt was made the forerunner at Air + Style Los Angeles, proving his style has scored him some serious snowboard recognition.
