Ben Raybourn is so comfortable ripping up the deep end of a pool, it’s as if Jake Phelps and Michael Phelps had a baby, then taught it handplants. Hailing from Rosenberg, Texas Ben is one of big transition skating’s most exciting prospects. His total destruction of anything with a transition earned him a spot on the Birdhouse pro team in 2012. The same year he landed his first TransWorld SKATEboarding cover with a NBD ceiling bash. His welcome video was like a bit of time travel, as Ben’s style is so influenced by the Dogtown and Bones Brigade era of skateboarding, it’s hard to tell what decade his skateboarding fits in. Ben’s unique take on tricks goes over well with crowds and judges, though. Ben’s made the finals at Dew Tour Los Angeles in 2015, won Coastal Carnage in 2012, and at X Games Austin in 2015, he had a run so popular, Tony Hawk dubbed him, “The People’s Champ”. Maybe, “Birdman Junior” is not far behind.
