Few women will leave behind a snowboard legacy like Kjersti Buass. A product of Norway’s longstanding snowboard scene, Buaas has pushed women’s snowboarding forward with her emphasis on style. An inspiration for many of her competitors, Buaas knows how to draw the line between being fun and creative while filming, to being competitive and creative when the pressure is on. In 2006, Buaas represented her homeland in the Olympic Wins Games and returned with a bronze medal for her halfpipe performance. Her halfpipe skills have also earned her FIS World cup titles in ’07 and ’09. However, she also took home the Burton US Open title in ’08 and ’09 for her game on the Slopestyle course. At the 2010 Vancouver Games, she rode halfpipe once again for Norway, but, in 2014, Buaas switch it up for the Sochi games to compete in the debut of Slopestyle. These days, nabbing National titles, X Games and Olympic medals has become the norm for Buaas.
