Alex Bellemare might not have an Olympic medal to his name yet, but the young Canadian has already given his approval to the 2018 PyeoungChang Games, winning last year’s FIS World Cup test event on the future Olympic course. Bellemare has come a long way since his working at McDonald’s in his teens, including a 2015 Winter X Games bronze in slopestyle. He’s not just popular with the judges however, as Bellemare got the ultimate stamp of approval from his fellow skiers, showing off his creativity and winning the Joss Christensen’s coveted SLVSH Cup in 2016 after defeating fellow competitor Øystein Bråten. Last year’s consistent performances were enough to earn Canada’s new slopestyle star Freestyle Canada’s 2016 Slopestyle Most Outstanding Performance of the Year Award
