Alek first broke onto the snowboard scene by earning a 3rd place finish at the 2009 Andreas Wiig Invitational in Geilo, Norway. It was no surprise as Østreng attended the snowboard school of Geilo for over 3 years, graduating in the Spring of 2010. After hearing rumors about his skills and viewing his video parts including Factor Films “They Came From” and Video Wizards “Iʼm Here Out There”, Alek secured himself a position on the Forum 2010 Young Blood Team. Alek is spent his next winter filming for the Forum Snowboardsʼ video and competing in the Winter Dew Tour, finishing 15th overall in Slopestyle. In his spare time he likes to hang out with his friends back home in Norway, listen to music and skateboard.
