Summer Dew Tour Event Returns to Long Beach as the Final Olympic Skateboarding Qualifier on U.S. Soil Before 2020 Tokyo Summer Games

The current leader in the World Skate Olympic ranking is American Nyjah Huston.

Dew Tour confirms to host its summer skateboard competition for its fifth consecutive year at Long Beach, CA May 7-10, 2020. As skateboarding awaits to make its Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games, Dew Tour will serve as the final Olympic qualifier event on U.S. soil for skateboarding street and park.

American street skateboarder Sean Malto ended the first qualifying season in just one position outside of the top 30 in the World Skate Olympic rankings.

What to Look Forward to:
The free four-day summer Dew Tour will include the world’s best male and female skateboarders competing in individual street and park competitions, along with Dew Tour’s fan-based activities, music, and art.

USA based park skateboarder Lizzie Armanto is born with dual citizenship and will represent the country of Finland in the 2020 Summer Games.

Skateboard Olympic Qualifying:
For 2020, more than 300 of the world’s top male and female skateboarders from 50 countries will compete in individual Park and Street events for a chance to win the Dew Tour title, while earning valuable points towards joining their country’s Olympic skateboarding team. The Olympic qualification system is based on World Skateboarding Rankings maintained by World Skate, the sport’s International Governing Body. Skateboarders are currently earning points by competing in World Skate sanctioned events during the Olympic qualifying period that started on January 1, 2019, and will conclude on May 31, 2020.

Mariah Duran finishes the first Olympic qualifying season as the highest-ranked USA woman street skateboarder in World Skate rankings coming in at seventh place.

Seasoned street competitor Leticia Bufoni is one of four Brazilian women skateboarders to end the first Olympic qualifying round within the top ten in overall World Skate rankings currently in fifth place.
