Snowboard Results, FIS U.S. Grand Prix + FIW

This past week two major snowboard events, the FIS (International Ski Federation) U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, Colorado and the FIW (Freeride World Tour) at Revelstoke, British Columbia, provided riding in three separate disciplines for

For the FIS U.S. Grand Prix at Copper we saw an American dominant slopestyle event with Chas Guldemond taking the men’s event while Jamie Anderson took all in the women’s division – this made for Anderson’s second major win this season following Dew Tour in mid December.

Then, the pipe saw a domination by Australian riders with Nathan Johnstone winning the men’s event and Torah Bright claiming the women’s title. For the complete list of results from all of the snowboard disciplines scroll down.

North of the action at Copper was the freeriding competition held at Revelstoke on the Mac Daddy face. The steep terrain was caked with powder following a few days of heavy snowfall, so the men’s competition was complete with prime conditions that had completely changed by the time women went to drop.

Ralph Backstrom rode out of the day with the highest score and the first place title for the men’s competition, as did Shannan Yates for the women’s event.

Scroll down to the bottom of this post for the complete results from Revelstoke after watching the venue introduction video here.
