In conjunction with the Wendy’s Invitational, Nike 6.0 held a Paul Rodriguez meet and greet at the Niketown store in downtown Portland. One of skateboardings finest showed up to talk to the fans, give out some product and pass out autographs.
The two-hour event started with a DJ spinning some tunes while the fans eagerly awaited Paul’s arrival. When he arrived, introductions were the first order of business and then Nike SB’s Paul answered questions from staff and members of the audience.
He talked about how his famous comedian father both supported his skateboarding and questioned whether it would provide a living when he was just starting out. Now, of course, there is no question that skateboarding can provide a living for Paul and his family.
Everyone also got a bonus with a sneak preview of Paul’s new shoe, to be released on Aug 21. But the surprises didn’t end there, and giveaways ensued. Flip Cameras, Dew Tour tickets, and Paul Rodriguez pro model skateboards from his sponsor, Plan B were given away to the lucky fans.
Finally, Paul pulled out a pen, signed autographs and posed for photos with the fans. Thanks to Paul, Nike and The Dew Tour for bringing Paul and all the athletes to Portland for the Wendy’s Invitational.
