My Five: Skate Crew 3

My Five is an Alli feature where we ask the same five questions to five different athletes and compile all the crazy answers for your reading pleasure. For this installment, we talked to skaters Sam Beckett, Rune Glifberg, Ronaldo Gomes, Adam Dyet and Bucky Lasek.

Question 1: What was your favorite TV show as a kid?

Sam Beckett: “The Moomins.” It’s this kids TV show but it’s set in Norway. It’s pretty far out.

Rune Glifberg: “Knight Rider,” the one with Kit the car and Hasselhof. “Knight Rider” was pretty good.

Ronaldo Gomes: “Sponge Bob Squarepants”

Adam Dyet: I liked “Alf “when I was really, really young. Otherwise, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”

Bucky Lasek: “The Great Space Coaster”

Question 2: What would you do if you had a million dollars?

Sam Beckett: I’d build a vert ramp to have a place to skate

Rune Glifberg: Have some fun with it

Ronaldo Gomes: Build a ramp in my backyard

Adam Dyet: Probably spend it. I would say invest it, but we know that’s a lie. Who knows where it would go? A million dollars isn’t sh*t nowadays.

Bucky Lasek: I would invest it

Question 3: Would you rather have the power to be invisible or the power to read minds?

Sam Beckett: Invisible

Rune Glifberg: Invisible, for sure

Ronaldo Gomes: I would want to be invisible so no one can see my new tricks.

Adam Dyet: Invisible. I would freak people out.

Bucky Lasek: I’d rather have the power to be invisible

Question 4: How many boards do you go through in a month?

Sam Beckett: Between two and four, I’d say.

Rune Glifberg: Three maybe. It kind of varies.

Ronaldo Gomes: Two or three.

Adam Dyet: Depends on if I’m skating street or in a contest. If I’m skating street, I could break a board a day. If it’s a contest, I could use a board for three, four days before it breaks.

Bucky Lasek: I go through about three boards in a month, unless I’m street skating. Street skating I go through a little bit more.

Question 5: Love Park or Brooklyn Banks?

Sam Beckett: I haven’t been to either of them, so I don’t know?

Rune Glifberg: I’d have to go with Love Park

Ronaldo Gomes: Love Park.

Adam Dyet: That’s such a hard one. I can’t even pick. Too controversial.

Bucky Lasek: Love Park
