Leading into the 2017-18 winter season, Mountain Dew is excited to announce that professional snowboarder Julia “Jules” Marino will be joining its elite roster of professional snowboard athletes. At just 19-years-old, hailing from Westport, Conn., Marino caught the attention of the global snowboarding community with incredible debut appearances at the X Games Aspen and Mountain Dew-sponsored X Games Norway this past winter, snatching up a total of four medals in Big Air and Slopestyle competitions. In doing so, she became the first woman in 17 years to win multiple medals at a single X Games event. Marino also placed fourth at Dew Tour’s newly reimagined competition in Breckenridge, Colo., this past December.

“Jules has already built an impressive career in just one year and we cannot wait to see her continue to succeed,” commented Chauncey Hamlett, Senior Director of Marketing, Mountain Dew. “She is an outstanding snowboarder and her pursuit to push limits only strengthens our core value of raising the bar for snowboarders globally. Jules’ technical high-flying style is the perfect fit to round out the team with veteran style rider Danny Davis and the popular up-and-comer Red Gerard.”

Marino has showed incredible talent out on the slopes, becoming the only woman to land a Cab 900 double underflip, which she demonstrated twice at her professional competition debut during the 2017 X Games in Aspen, earning her the gold medal in Slopestyle. Marino, who first hit the slopes at age three, is now known as a top elite athlete with her signature trick being a combination of a Cab double underflip and backside 720. Her fearless riding appears effortless and proves to be exhilarating for spectators and competitors alike.

“I’m so happy to ride alongside Danny and Red as a part of the Mountain Dew snowboarding team,” said Marino. “Mountain Dew’s dedication to supporting snowboarding growth and progression is awesome and being a part of their team just feels right.”
