King Of Wake Joins Alli

Alli has a lot of things covered: snow, ramps, dirt. Up until now, one thing was missing: water. Not anymore, though, as the Alliance of Action Sports is pleased to welcome King of Wake to the Alli family. Wakeboarding made its first appearance in the Alliance at a jam session at the Dew Tour in 2007, and we here at Alli have been wanting to bring it back ever since. As the elite pro wakeboarding circuit, the King of Wake series has attracted the sport’s top riders from throughout the globe, and we couldn’t be more excited to work with this group.

With more than $300,000 in prize money over the eight-event season, riders compete over the course of the year to be named the “King of Wake” – an award based on points accumulated at each stop of the series. Events include Wake Games, Pro Wakeboard Tour (5 events), WWA National Championships, and WWA World Championships. The King of Wake is organized by World Sports & Marketing – the leading wake event producers since 1988.

Wakeboarders of variety of nationalities compete in the King of Wake. In 2008, the American Phillip Soven placed first, followed by Canadians Rusty Malinoski and Aaron Rathy. As for the Queen of Wake, the British Nicola Butler took first, followed by the Aussie Amber Wing and the American Melissa Marquardt.

Allisports.com will become the destination for everything related to the series, from original content, to athlete profiles.
