Kelly Clark and Luke Mitrani Lead Snowboard Pipe Prelims

No strangers to the podium, Olympians Kelly Clark and Hannah Teter led the pack in the women’s snowboard superpipe prelims. Clark of West Dover, Vt. took the top score of the day with a 96.25 and Teter of Belmont, Vt. followed close behind with a 95.00. Defending Dew Cup champion Kaitlyn Farrington of Sun Valley, Idaho finished third with a 93.75.

The top five finishers will advance to tomorrow’s Women’s Snowboard Superpipe Finals joining Queralt Castellet who is currently first in the Dew Cup rankings.

2. Hannah Teter – 96.00

3. Kaitlyn Farrington – 92.75

4. Soko Yamaoka – 90.25

5. Ellery Hollingsworth – 80.75

 

In the men’s field, Luke Mitrani of Mammoth Lakes, Calif. showed huge amplitude and style for a winning score of 96.00. Fellow Mammoth Lakes native Greg Bretz finished second with a 94.25 and Breckenridge, Colorado’s Steve Fisher rounded out the podium in third with a 93.00.

The top nine finishers will advance to tomorrow’s Men’s Snowboard Superpipe Finals joining Louie Vito, JJ Thomas and Matt Ladley who are first, second and third respectively in the Dew Cup standings.
