The city of Portland, Oregon, plans to revamp its Burnside Bridge— home to the legendary DIY Burnside Skatepark. Burnside is known for its DIY birth and construction in the 90s and since inspired a whole movement in skateboard culture.

In a recent Instagram post from renowned skateboard photographer and Oregon resident Bryce Kanights shares in detail of the upcoming replacement of the Burnside Bridge. After watching the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge Recommended video, out of the three proposed options, the suggested Long Span version includes many benefits: lower cost, more space for community activities, and, most importantly, the lowest impact to Burnside Skatepark.
